At the moment there are a lot of extensions for contractors and some contractors may ‘feel’ they warrant a rate increase.
Where contractors go wrong is they treat this subject emotively and enter into discussion with a lot of ‘feel’.
❌ I ‘feel’ I deserve . . .
❌ I have worked really hard so I I want . . .
❌ I have a good relationship with the client which means . . .
❌ My colleague is getting ‘x’ so I deserve ‘y’
The above is not a good starting place so I wanted to help contractors with the do’s and don’ts when asking for a rate increase.
