what was Your background and experience before joining Precision sourcing?
I was a sports coach and A level teacher for 6 years before making the leap into Tech recruitment at Harvey Nash in the UK in 2021. I specialised in Projects, Change and Transformation there before making the move to PS. Throughout my full working career since I was 16, I’ve always juggled this with a life away from the desk as a Semi Professional Rugby player in intense, high performing environments.
The challenge you faced moving to PRECISION SOURCING and down under?
A few challenges to be brutally honest. The prospect of changing absolutely everything, new country, making new mates, new job, new lifestyle, all whilst being the other side of the world was a huge challenge in itself. This alongside having to sell all of my things in the UK, rent my house out and start again. I knew I wanted to move to Australia, so the decision to make the jump wasn’t the hard part – the costs, admin, huge life changes were. Initially, it does feel like you’re having to take 2 steps back in life.
What training, support and coaching you were given when you arrived and how this helped you?
I thought I had a pretty good concept before arriving, but for me it was really wiping the slate clean, forgetting what made me successful in the UK and fully learning / adapting to the “precision way” – once I got the hang of this, I could slowly integrate some of what worked well for me in the UK into the Precision way, but had I not adapted to this, I wouldn’t have built my desk to what it currently is so far. The Precision way involved a lot of 1 to 1 coaching, role plays, meetings, collaborating & generally massively getting myself out of my comfort zone.
The success you have had and the part PS has played in your journey and evolution as a recruiter?
So far, my success so far has been the ability to zoom out and look back at the past 15 months of starting a brand new desk from scratch, looking at the number of skilled, coded candidates and clients alongside the volume of meetings and placements. Given this was a brand new desk, I can quantify all of the successes so far based on metrics, database and outcomes built since I arrived, given that’s the only data available to my desk. PS has made me think more consciously about loads, including personal brand, the recipe for success and open to learning new ways of working. Precision Sourcing will continuously develop you as a true stand out, vertical specialist 360 recruiter if you’re coachable, adaptable, driven & do what you say you’re gonna do.

what was Your background and experience before joining Precision sourcing?
My work background is very eclectic… I have a degree in Music and whilst studying I managed my local Cinema which gave me extensive experience within customer service. After a few years of traveling post university, I joined the military, which was supposed to be what I thought would be my career. That experience was shorter than planned (I left on my own accord, I wasn’t kicked out) and upon leaving, I leveraged my customer service experience to get a job at Indeed, the job board website, for a role in Telesales. It was from here which started the trajectory of recruitment, moving into Employment Services (which is essentially recruitment for those receiving benefits from the Government) followed by my first stint in Agency recruitment at a Sydney based IT Agency. After 4 years there and specialising in SAP recruitment for the final 1.5 years, I was poached to come to Precision Sourcing.
The challenge you faced moving to PRECISION SOURCING?
The main challenge (which I wouldn’t call a challenge really) about joining Precision Sourcing was mainly adapting to a new environment and new ways of working. Although I worked at a competitor effectively, the way the business are run is apples and oranges. Fortunately, a big reason why I made the change is because I was seeking a new environment that was different to my previous organisation, which I’ve gotten in spades.
What training, support and coaching you were given when you arrived and how this helped you?
The training was thorough and consistent whereby everybody goes through the same training, even if you are experienced. ‘Fortunately’ for me, I didn’t have any deliberate training at my previous organisation so I was grateful to get it. Additionally, part of the reason of me joining was that I wanted a mentor, which I didn’t have one at the previous company — and fortunately I’ve got one of the best mentors in the recruitment, legit. As a result, I’ve learned so much in my 8+ months here at Precision Sourcing so far.
The success you have had and the part PS has played in your journey and evolution as a recruiter?
I’m still building my desk and I sit in a team of 8 other excellent operators so that has encouraged me to raise my game, but without the feeling of ‘pressure’ as such. In saying that, it’s great to learn from other operators and how they go about their desks too. However, I can feel the seeds are planted and I’m ‘building my house on rock’ so I expect it’s a matter of time until more success comes my way.
Egle Scerbaviciute
Principal DevOps, Cloud & SRE Recruiter
what was Your background and experience before joining Precision sourcing?
I’ve always been very into sport and lived a pretty active lifestyle, which is what led me to study Sports Science & Physiotherapy at Bournemouth University. I jumped at the opportunity to move to California and coach soccer for a couple of years, which was an incredible experience both personally and professionally. From there, I moved back to London and got into recruitment at Stott and May, where I built the DevOps desk from scratch over a few years. That’s really where my passion for the Cloud/DevOps space started. I then secured a role with Precision Sourcing and made the move to Australia, my forever home!
The challenge you faced moving to PRECISION SOURCING?
I always knew Australia would be a permanent move for me, so the biggest challenge was rebuilding an entire life from scratch – a new country, new friendships, settling into a new home, whilst also establishing myself professionally. To add another layer to it all, I adopted my rescue sheepdog Harley pretty much as soon as I moved over. So balancing a 7 week old puppy whilst growing my network, career and life here was definitely multitasking at its finest – but honestly, I wouldn’t have had it any other way and Precision were supportive with the flexibility.
What training, support and coaching you were given when you arrived and how this helped you?
Honestly, the training, support and coaching at Precision has been ongoing – there’s support available at every level. It really helped me navigate the Australian market and understand how differently it operates compared to the German market I’d previously recruited in, which was far more transactional. Australia is the complete opposite so Precision helped with everything from candidate expectations and client engagement through to the overall pace and style of recruitment here. Having that guidance whilst also being trusted to build relationships and grow my own desk made the transition into both a new country and a new market a lot smoother.
The success you have had and the part PS has played in your journey and evolution as a recruiter?
Reflecting on my four years at Precision Sourcing, I’ve loved the journey and growth I’ve had – both professionally and personally. I’ve built out the DevOps, Cloud & SRE desk from scratch, focusing heavily on authentic, long term relationships. One of the things I’m most proud of is creating Her Heads in the Cloud – a women in engineering community that originally started as an event series and has since expanded into a podcast. Creating a space that brings women in platform engineering and cloud together to connect, share experiences and support each other has been incredibly rewarding.

Sara de Cruz
Senior PRINCIPAL SAP Recruiter
- 8 years at Precision Sourcing, promoted to Senior Principal 2025
- Highest billing quarter $237,000
“It’s weird but I almost feel like I’ve grown up at Precision Sourcing – joining as a green law graduate thinking this would be a stop gap job while I figured out what to do with my life – fast forward 8 years I’ve moved out of home, gotten engaged, bought a house, gotten married and am now starting a family. It’s weird to think but I think a lot of that wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the constant Precision Team behind me. Here’s to the next 8 years!”
Abby Van Rooyen
Principal SAP Recruiter
- 1 engagement, 2 dogs, 1 baby and nearly 15 years at Precision Souring.
- Last year, as a part time working Mum, I billed $759k
“Why did I mention the engagement, dogs and baby? Well because as much as they are an important part of how my life has been shaped over the last 15 years, so is my working life at Precision Sourcing. They are intertwined!
In 2009, I joined as a rookie with virtually no experience and I have worked my way up to a Principle Consultant whilst building my family. After maternity leave, I moved into recruiting within a different market and have never looked back. I have great people around me, a leadership team who support my personal life as well as my mental health and I earn more money than a lawyer who works 80 hours a week!”
Jay Wynter
SAP Practice Director
- 9 years with Precision Sourcing
- Precision Sourcing’s top billing consultant 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021
- $6 million in billings in 7 years
- RCSA Rising Star Award Winner 2019
“I joined Precision Sourcing at 24 years old with a small goal to get onto the property ladder by the time I was 30. I have had the chance to work with high performers and learn from some of the best recruiters in the industry who have given me all the tools to go far beyond that small goal I had.
Opportunity after opportunity has enabled me to grow professionally and as a person. I look forward to helping others achieve their milestones as the company grows.”

Stories
A Day In The Life
Bethany Nrekic
Principal SAP Recruitment Consultant
“I am a mother of 3 and have more on my plate than I care to admit. I therefore spend a lot of time upskilling myself outside of working hours. I’ve done courses on routines, visualisation exercises and more to help me keep track of all that I have going on both personally and professionally. I truly believe we should work to our strengths, and that all of us have different strengths. Mine is presentation and rapport building skills, so I spend much of my day marketing, keeping organised and building relationships with my clients and candidates”.
- I get the best out of my workflow when I put work into my marketing strategy. I have a broad view of every conversation I have with clients, and constantly ask myself how else I can add value for clients, and what else we can get out of the conversation; whether it’s inviting them to events, booking in a podcast or helping them to market themselves better.
- I work solely from home, so setting up my day for success is crucial. I have music playing in the background, I keep a candle lit and the kettle hot for constant access to tea and coffee, and I make sure to plan my day the night before so I don’t get distracted.
- I work part time, so I book an average of 2 meetings per day when I need to build my desk, and 1 meeting per day when I am in resourcing mode.
Chay Walbeoff
SAP Team Lead
“In my first full FY, I billed $564k within the SAP market. In order to do this, a lot of my success came from booking meeting with clients. In this 12 month period, I booked 148 meetings. In addition to booking meetings, I utilise LinkedIn by putting out personable, credible and valuable content on a daily basis.”
- My day totally depends on what my objectives look like for the week and the open roles I am looking to deliver to. Usually I split my day in 2, focusing on delivery of candidates to my open jobs with the afternoon focusing on business development, booking meetings, floats and an additional candidate hour. I have a big focus on meetings as I have seen a lot of success come from booking meetings with clients and try as best as possible to adhere to booking a minimum of 3 meetings per week.
- For my candidate work, I tend to use a mix of tools in order to attract dormant talent; 1) CRM system 2) LinkedIn 3) Hot list 4) Seek Talent. Having multiple approaches in my locker allows me to identify highly skilled suitable candidates that match my clients demand
- The important thing to understand in the Australian market is the in depth reason someone is looking for a change. I use LinkedIn heavily when searching for suitable candidates however the downside to that is they may not be known to my network. In order to mitigate any risks, I really focus in depth on key driver’s, ideal role, ideal rate/salary, minimum rate/salary and exactly what they like and don’t like in an organisation/opportunity.
