We’re seeking an exceptional Principal Area Lead to drive advanced analytics capability for a major Australian financial institution. This is a high-impact leadership role managing 30+ analytics professionals and partnering directly with executive stakeholders to deliver transformational business outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and develop a team of 30+ advanced analytics professionals across multiple squads
- Drive analytics strategy that delivers measurable commercial value and competitive advantage
- Partner with senior business leaders to translate complex problems into analytical solutions
- Build and scale analytics capability through talent development and modern ways of working
- Champion advanced analytics methodologies including traditional and emerging AI capabilities
- Work collaboratively across product, technology, and business functions in a matrix environment

- Proven leadership of large teams (30+) with strong people development track record
- Demonstrated transformation leadership in complex financial services environments
- Strong commercial acumen – ability to connect analytics to tangible business value
- Deep expertise in advanced analytics methodologies, traditional AI, and emerging AI capabilities
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional organizations
Highly Valued:
- Credit risk analytics experience (pricing, risk modelling)
- Home buying domain knowledge within financial institutions
- Understanding of modern data platforms (AWS, data warehousing, data consumption patterns)
