Lead Cyber Security Strategy & Risk Consultant

Lead Cyber Security Strategy & Risk Consultant

* Role highlight, premium cyber strategy engagements, thinking consultant role
* Base plus super plus bonus plus meaningful perks
* Boutique consulting environment, long-term clients, no box-ticking work

Lead high-impact cyber strategy and risk engagements where thinking, depth, and commercial judgement matter more than framework recitation.

What will this job do to improve your life?

This role elevates you beyond compliance delivery and into true strategic consulting. You will operate at a Big 4 Senior Consultant equivalent level, shaping cyber strategy engagements, designing meaningful security initiatives, and influencing how organisations manage risk at a structural level.

You will work on complex, long-term client relationships rather than one-off checklist reviews. You will challenge clients constructively, articulate trade-offs in security decisions, and connect controls to real-world attack scenarios. This is a role for someone who starts with “why” and builds from there.

As the team grows, you will play a key role in strengthening delivery capability and shaping how cyber strategy services are delivered moving forward.

About the role

The team blends advisory, engineering, and GRC capability, with a separate penetration testing function. You will balance multiple clients at once, including ongoing advisory support, cyber strategy engagements, and longer-term programs.

Upcoming work includes cyber strategy design engagements, a sustained client advisory relationship, support in a cyber-related legal matter, and assisting a subsidiary progressing toward certification.

You will report into senior leadership within the consulting practice and work closely with experienced consultants across risk, strategy, and technical domains.

Duties

  • Lead cyber strategy and risk engagements across diverse client environments

  • Design structured security initiatives and sequence controls based on real risk

  • Build and refine cyber risk management processes within client organisations

  • Challenge assumptions and articulate commercial trade-offs in security decisions

Skills/experience

  • Strong consulting background in cyber strategy and risk services

  • Demonstrated ability to move beyond compliance and explain control intent

  • Experience designing and implementing risk management processes

  • Analytical mindset with ability to break down complex environments

  • Confident stakeholder engagement across technical and executive audiences

Benefits

  • Performance-based bonus scheme

  • Hybrid working model with flexibility

  • Monthly allowance and team morale initiatives

  • Birthday leave plus additional personal benefits

  • Learning and development support

  • Opportunity to influence the direction of a growing consulting practice

Company & culture

You will join a boutique firm delivering high-end strategy and risk services to enterprise clients. The culture values intellectual depth, constructive challenge, and continual improvement.

This is not a factory model. Engagements are bespoke, client relationships are long-term, and consultants are trusted to think commercially and strategically. The team values analytical depth, risk-first thinking, and well-rounded capability across controls, implementation logic, and advisory delivery.
