The Role
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance & Controlling (FICO) Lead to drive the successful delivery of a large-scale SAP transformation program. This role will be responsible for leading the design, configuration, implementation, and optimisation of SAP Finance and Controlling solutions while ensuring alignment between business objectives, governance requirements, and technology capabilities.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, project leadership, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable financial processes, reporting capabilities, and operational efficiencies across a complex enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Finance & Controlling Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end implementation and deployment of SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling solutions.
- Drive finance process transformation initiatives aligned with business and operational objectives.
- Configure and optimise core SAP Finance and Controlling functionalities, including:
- General Ledger (GL)
- Accounts Payable (AP)
- Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Asset Accounting (AA)
- Bank Accounting
- Cost Centre Accounting (CCA)
- Profit Centre Accounting (PCA)
- Internal Orders
- Product Costing
- Profitability Analysis (COPA)
- Group Reporting and Financial Close processes
- Provide guidance on SAP best practices and industry-leading financial processes.
Stakeholder Engagement & Solution Design
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable SAP solutions.
- Collaborate with technical, testing, and integration teams to ensure successful solution delivery.
- Act as a trusted advisor to project leadership and business sponsors throughout the program lifecycle.
- Facilitate workshops, design sessions, and stakeholder reviews to ensure alignment and adoption.
Integration, Data & Delivery Management
- Oversee integration between SAP Finance and related business functions including Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, and Project Systems.
- Support data migration, reconciliation, validation, and cutover activities.
- Contribute to project planning, risk management, status reporting, and governance activities.
- Support testing, user acceptance activities, deployment planning, and hypercare support.
Governance, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure solutions comply with financial governance, audit, taxation, statutory reporting, and security requirements.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve financial reporting capabilities.
- Support change management and user adoption initiatives across the organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement through optimisation of financial processes and controls.
About You
You are an experienced SAP Finance professional with a strong background delivering SAP S/4HANA transformations in complex enterprise environments.
You will bring:
- 8+ years of SAP Finance and Controlling experience, including multiple end-to-end SAP implementation programs.
- Proven expertise across SAP S/4HANA Finance and core FICO processes.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, management accounting, and reporting frameworks.
- Experience supporting data migration, testing, cutover, and post-go-live activities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead workshops, manage stakeholders, and influence business outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of SAP integration points across enterprise business functions.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- SAP certification and relevant tertiary qualifications highly regarded.
